Workshops in Symposium
Join our hands-on workshops at Symposium 2024, designed to empower participants with the latest advancements in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). These sessions will also highlight innovative solutions for social good in India, showcasing how technology can be harnessed to address pressing societal challenges.
Thinking Responsive
Worshshop by Rohan Sandeep (SAAS Entrepreneur)
Timings: TBD, (Duration, approx. 2 Hours)
Responsive design lies at the heart of creating versatile interfaces that seamlessly adapt to diverse devices. Elements such as lists, selections, and dropdowns serve as the building blocks, blending functionality with visual appeal.
For practitioners and students in Technology and Design, mastering these components not only enhances their skill sets but also sparks creativity in designing interfaces that are intuitive and engaging across various platforms and screen sizes.
Combatting Deepfakes
Worshshop by Dr. Dilrukshi Gamage
Timings: TBD, (Duration, approx. 3 Hours)
Have you encountered deepfake images or videos and you didn’t know they were deepakes? A pressing need in the society; How might we distinguish AI content from real? If you are a designer/ developer, how can you build tools and technologies to combat these new types of challenges? In this workshop, we will explore the skills needed to design and develop tools and technologies aimed at combating AI-generated misinformation, such as deepfakes, focusing on the integration of human-computer interaction (HCI) and computational social science.
You will engage with topics ranging from the principles of interaction and interface design to hands-on activities that involve brainstorming and sketching tool designs that can identify or mitigate AI-generated misinformation.
